Running Stream Chardonnay 2019 (6/case) (R120/Bottle)
Nestled at the foot of the Langeberg mountain, close to Ashton, you will find this small piece of family land.
The soil has been nurtured by five generations of Malherbe who never took too much from the ground.
They have been custodians of the land and now produce quality wine in small quantities that speak of family endurance.
Embedded in Limestone soils, 7 tons of grapes were hand selected over 14ha of vines ensuring that only the best of grapes went into these limited 5 975 bottles.
Light straw colour in the glass. An elegant and complex unwooded Chardonnay with pineapple and quince aromas on the nose underlined by fine citrus flavours and subtle creaminess. Medium bodied on the palate with good depth of flavour and a crisp, satisfying aftertaste. Already perfectly enjoyable but will gain further complexity with another 2 -5 years of bottle aging.
Enjoy with tandoori butter chicken or grilled line fish, pastas or pork
